--Schedule--

A Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Proposed Improvement Activities at the Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport has been prepared and was available for public review and comment from August 22 to October 14, 2008. A public information meeting and hearing was held Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the Westmark Hotel Sitka in Sitka, Alaska.

The next step of the project is to review and respond to comments on the DEIS. Once all comments are addressed in the document, a Final EIS will be published. The FAA expects to release the Final EIS in early 2009 with a Record of Decision to follow shortly thereafter.
