The story, "The Whiskey, Was It?" contains the main themes of "My Mother's Daughter". There is my mother's love for her family and her unusual relationship with her father, "Da." My childhood was made secure by the desire of family members to remain close to each other. And then, there's the irony and humor running like a thread through the book.
